In 1930~1950s, the United States and Germany had developed a roller bowl coal mill, roll mill and the vertical shaft medium speed coal mill. As the essential part of ore dressing equipment in mining industry, the development of ball mill is more and more quickly.

As the traditional ball mill grinding equipment, China ball mill also has a history of over 100 years. It is the important equipment to grind solid materials into powder, which is widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, cement, ceramics, construction, electricity, medicine, national defense industry and other departments. Especially the ore dressing sector in the metallurgical industry, grinding operation occupies a very important position.

Due to the grain size and grinding ability have significant influence on the subsequent operation efficiency and the technical economic indexes of whole production process of ball mill, so the research on ball mill has been paid attention at home and abroad.
